NASHVILLE ALLIANCE ANNOUNCES NEW
BOARD MEMBERS, ELECTED OFFICERS

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Nashville Alliance for Public Education, which raises and directs private resources to support public education, today announced new board members Sue Andrews and Andrew McQueen, and newly elected board officers for 2009-2010: Robert S. Lipman, Gregory L. Burns, John Ferguson and Margaret Dolan.

“The officers and board members of the Nashville Alliance have a great understanding of Nashville public schools,” said Pam Garrett, executive director for the Nashville Alliance. “We are happy to welcome the new leadership, and together we can help our public schools achieve greater academic success.”

“We look forward to continuing the good work of the Nashville Alliance that provides additional resources necessary to improve our schools,” said Lipman, Nashville Alliance board chairman.

The Nashville Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to securing private resources to help improve Metro Nashville Public Schools. Since its inception, the organization has raised more than $20 million to advance student success in key academic areas such as reading, language arts, music, math and science.
