On March 25, Dr. Jesse Register, Director of Metro Nashville Public Schools, presented his State of the Schools address at a public meeting held at the Martin Professional Development Center. He shared that his vision for being Nashville’s “First Choice for Families” does not come without challenges, including budget concerns for the next school year.
Dr. Register reported the recent accomplishments of the district, updated the progress of the transformational change efforts and cited new programs, including the academies at Opry Mills and old Cockrill. There are many new plans for next school year as well—all aimed to more adequately address the needs of our students.
